During the autumn, Manvers Street Baptist Church in Bath will be running a parenting course called Parentalk.
“Parentalk is a course giving parents time to talk about the day-to-day challenges they face, as well as sharing the things that are going well,” explained Rev Andy Percey, co-host for the course. “Over six sessions, Parentalk looks at valuable principles that can be applied on a day-to-day basis with children. It is a course for parents of children aged 0-12 years old.
“Being a parent is one of life’s greatest joys, but it is also one of its biggest challenges. There’s hardly a mum or dad on the face of the earth who, at times, is not overawed by the task of parenting. That’s why we’re running Parentalk
“As a parent of a four year old, I know the ups and the downs of parenting. I know how important it is to have a space you can share honestly with people, get support and encouragement, and know that you are not alone. As a church we are committed to supporting families, and this course provides an excellent opportunity to do this.”
The course runs on Wednesday evenings, running from 18 September until 23 October, and from 7:30 – 9:30pm. Each evening is in the informal setting of the Café at the Centre, with tea, coffee and pastries supplied. There is no charge for the course.
