Christmas is coming to the Little Theatre cinema in Bath with a whole list of family-friendly Christmas screenings suitable for children of all ages.
First, there’s Cbeebies Christmas Show: Hansel and Gretel on Sat 30 Nov and Sun 1 Dec at 11am.
The CBeebies Christmas Show returns to the big screen from the theatre stage for a family-friendly feast of Christmas fun. This year’s panto is an adaptation of the classic fairytale ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and features some of CBeebies’ most popular talent, including Waffle the Wonder Dog for the first time! You’ll also get the chance to see extra content specially made for the cinema.
Then there’s the Christmas classic Elf on Monday 9 Dec at 8.30pm.
One Christmas Eve, a small baby at an orphanage crawls into Santa’s bag of toys and is accidentally carried back to Santa’s workshop at the North Pole. There he’s raised to be an elf, but as he grows to be three times bigger than everyone else it becomes clear that Buddy (Ferrell) will never truly fit into the elf world.
One holiday season, Buddy finally decides to find his real family, and sets off for New York City to track down his roots – but soon he finds himself as much an outsider there as back at the North Pole.
Next up is The Muppet Christmas Carol on Sat 14 Dec at 10.30am (Kids’ Club Screening) and Sun 15 Dec at 12.45pm.
One Christmas Eve, the miserly Scrooge reluctantly gives Bob Cratchit (Kermit the Frog) an unpaid day off for Christmas. That night, Scrooge is visited by three spirits. The first takes him back to his youth, when he lost the beautiful Belle. The second shows him the penurious Bob Cratchit, his wife Emily (Miss Piggy) and their children in the present day. The third shows him a possible future – with Scrooge himself dead and unlamented, and the Cratchits mourning the loss of their beloved Tiny Tim. Scrooge awakens a changed man, and distributes Christmas largesse to all.
Next is the Kids’ Club screening of the incredible animation The Grinch, on Sat 21 Dec at 10.30am. Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to the infamous Grinch in this animated adaptation of Dr Seuss’ beloved holiday classic.
The Toddler Time screening on on Tues 17 Dec at 11am is The Gruffalo. Voted the nation’s favourite bedtime story, the magical tale of a plucky mouse who takes a walk through the woods in search of a nut is brought to enchanting life in an all-star adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffle’s bestselling book.
Lastly is the Toddler Time screenings of The Gruffalo’s Child on Tue 24 Dec at 11am and 1pm.
