Bath & North East Somerset Council’s public health team has secured the use of a temporary COVID-19 mobile testing unit which will be based at Odd Down Park & Ride in Bath from next Monday (June 22).
The mobile testing unit (MTU) will be operating within a secure section of the site for five days and will mean many residents will not have to travel to Bristol Airport to get a test.
Only residents who are experiencing symptoms of the virus are urged to book themselves in for a coronavirus test at the unit.
Appointments can be made through https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested or people without internet access can dial 119.

Heywood Prep is hosting an online art class for primary aged children, although the whole family is welcome to take part. Led by Heywood Prep’s Head of Art, Leonora Martin, children will have the opportunity to draw and work along with Leonora to create a masterpiece using materials found in most households.
The class with last about an hour and children aged 6+ should be able to complete the work themselves without the help of an adult.
The session will be held on Zoom and a link to the call, together with a list of materials required, will be emailed to participants before the event.

As part of a wholes series of events available on line at Team Bath, the Rhythmic Gymnastics is running a series of online interactive zoom classes for its rhythmic gymnasts during lockdown and are now looking to welcome non-members to access some new classes that it has set up. These interactive online sessions are run by qualified coaches and one is in fact an Olympic coach!
Next week’s classes are all free, for people to try them out and after next week it’s £5 per person per class. The classes include
· General gymnastics skills (learn cartwheels, handstands etc). Ages 5-10
· New starters to Rhythmic Gymnastics. Ages 5-10
· Beginner and intermediate dance – have a go at hip hop and contemporary dance. Ages 5-12, 12yrs+ to Adult
· Get fit for sport – use gymnastics training to get fit for any sport. Fitness & Flexibility for ages 10-16 and Dance Fitness for ages 12yrs + to Adult.

From the end of June, Craig and Steph from Rock The Tots will be bringing you online, ticketed gigs! With all new themes, the shows will be 45-50 mins of their usual brand of silliness, with live guitar, singing, props and puppets, funny memes and great tunes that you know and love.
The first of the new shows, ‘Beside The Seaside’, takes place on 26 June at 10.30am. Expect to hear songs by The Drifters, Katy Perry and The Beach Boys, to name a few.

Photographer Emily Middleton is holding two Summer Photography Classes for Young People to help them to take photos of nature and landscapes, and learn how to capture movement. The workshops take place over two two-and-a-half hour hours sessions, starting on either 1 or 15 July. They are both outdoor sessions on Wednesday mornings with social distancing, and a maximum of five places.
