A moving memorial to those who fought for our freedom is being appreciated by the students, carers, teachers and parents at Three Ways School in Bath. The artwork was based on poppies created from old plastic bottles by students working with teaching assistant Tanya Dagger in the school’s secondary department. Tanya then spend a huge amount of her own time over half term creating the memorial on the school gates.
The artwork will be used as part of the creative and interactive curriculum at the school, looking to bring as many practical and meaningful experiences to the young people with a wide range of special needs who study there.
“We are so grateful to our dedicated and creative staff who go above and beyond,” said Jo Stoaling, Head Teacher at Three Ways. “Tanya gave her own time and energy to making education accessible to all our young people and giving the community such a striking memorial. I am constantly blown away by what our students and staff create and pleased to have such a dedicated team around me.”
