Seend Primary School in Wiltshire has retained its Good rating following a visit from Ofsted.
In the report, the school, which serves 102 pupils aged 4-11, is praised for fostering a friendly and welcoming learning environment, stating, ‘Pupils are polite, courteous and well mannered. There is a calm and orderly atmosphere in school and on the playground. Pupils enjoy school, feel safe and attend regularly.’
Staff at the school are also praised for their high standards for pupils, with inspectors writing, ‘Leaders are ambitious for what pupils can achieve.’
‘Staff quickly spot pupils who may be at risk of falling behind. They intervene with additional support, which enables pupils to catch up with their peers.’
The report quoted positive testimonials from parents, including the comments, ‘Seend School is absolutely amazing’ and ‘my child thrives.’
The report is the first on the school in eight years, and comes after changes to Ofsted inspection criteria that makes it more difficult to achieve high ratings.
Pleased with the outcome, Executive Principal Candida Hutchinson, who has recently also celebrated Good ratings at the other two schools she leads in Broughton Gifford and Semington, said, “We are really pleased with what inspectors had to say as it reflects what we see within our school community every day. I’d like to thank everyone in our school family for helping us achieve this success.
“I’d also like to especially mention our amazing children for representing themselves and the school so well during the inspection. Their good behaviour, attitude to learning and advocacy for their needs in school when visitors ask is so good to see.”
