Love Stories written by Mark Rutherford
26 May & 10 June 7pm
The Grapes, Bath
Welcome to the show about my two favourite things in the world – LOVE and STORIES. It might easily have been a show called sex and chocolate or gin and biscuits, but those shows are for someone else to write… When was the last time you…
• Fell in love or felt crushed by the loss of it?
• Laughed out loud, whilst eating Love Hearts given to you by an alien?
• Shared your shiniest and silliest romantic moments?
• Decided on the ending of a story?
• Voted in the World Cup of love songs?
All this and more, in a whirlwind romance of stories, chat and laughs about love.
“Funny, devastating, beautiful and confusing – this show will remind you why you fell in love in the first place.” “Feels like being enveloped in wonderfully warm hugs.”
“Heart-warming and humorous.”
Dylan Dodds & Friends
26 & 27 May 7.45pm
Burdall’s Yard, Bath
One man’s quest to watch all of Friends over ten years.
Eight years ago, Dylan Dodds asked himself a question. “Could he BE any more ridiculous?” The answer, it turns out, is yes. As he was the same age as the characters in Friends, he started blogging about the show every fortnight. He wondered, How have things changed since the 90s? How does his life compare to Friends? And is the show still even any good??
Ah the 90s… a time of turmoil in the Middle East, tension over the border in Ireland, a recession rocked Britain headed by an unpopular Tory leader… a global pandemic. Wait, sorry. That’s now. Join Dylan as he grapples with how his life has (and hasn’t) changed. See how he feels as friends move on, get married, and have kids. And that’s just in the sitcom! Find out about all the Friends related coincidences that happened, and the time he got a tattoo just because Friends told him to.
It’s a joke-packed hour that works equally well for both Friends fans and ordinary comedy punters looking for something a little different.
Ma Bessie and her Pig Foot Band
27 May
Chapel Arts, Bath
Building on her passion for the Empress of the Blues, Julia Titus started to perform as Ma Bessie in mid-2015 to share the music of Bessie Smith and her contemporaries with a new generation of listeners. Mixing Julia’s rich, warm vocal sound with a dynamic group of musicians that look as well as sound the part, Ma Bessie combines classic blues and jazz tunes from the inter-war years with a selection of original songs and hand-picked covers from the last 50 years of popular music.
The Ma Bessie repertoire includes classics such as Careless Love, Nobody Knows When You’re Down And Out and, of course, Gimme A Pig Foot (And A Bottle Of Beer), The band can also add additional songs in order to give you the tailor-made performance your event deserves.
With sell-out performances across the UK and a growing reputation for their authentic sound, Ma Bessie can help to add some style, class and excitement to any event, club or festival.

Impro Wolves
28 May 1.30pm and 8pm
The Grapes Bath – Pocock’s Living Room
Improv Wolves are a short-form comedy improvisation group. They create completely new comedy sketches on the spot based on audience suggestions. Every show is different! We might see a film noir detective pastiche, hear surprising confessions from some of the most famous names in history or have the dubious honour of being present for the debut of a brand-new improvised song. The Improv Wolves performers have experience working with companies including The Improlectuals, Foghorn Unscripted, Wow Impro, Birmingham Rep and The Old Joint Stock Theatre.
