News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Year 6 students from Marksbury Church of England Primary School have marked the end of their time at the school with an exclusive visit to The Pig near Bath at Hunstrete.

Throughout the year, students have been visiting The Pig as part of the ‘Adopt-A-School’ programme run by the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts. Previous trips have explored different parts of the curriculum, including map reading, making pancakes and running their own Dragon’s Den challenge to raise funds for the school.

Last Thursday (18th July), the 11 students from Year 6 took part in a special cookery lesson with Food & Beverage Manager, Floyd Mason. They harvested food from the gardens and then made flat breads to share with their parents who also attended the leaving celebrations.

Floyd said, “We have really enjoyed working with the children from Marksbury and look forward to planning more activities as part of Adopt-A-School.”
