Children from Castle Primary School in Keynsham met their class’s namesake at Bath Children’s Literature Festival last week.
The Year 4 class is named after the children’s author, Onjali Q Rauf, whom they saw at an event in the Assembly Rooms. The award-winning writer talked about her latest book, The Letter with the Golden Stamp. The novel tells the adventures of a secret young carer, drawing on Rauf’s own experience.
The pupils were able to ask the author questions including asking how long it takes to write a book. They also received a special shout out from Onjali Q Rauf to her namesake class.
The Year 4 children attended the event with Dahl class (named after another famous author!). Each child received their own signed copy of The Letter with the Golden Stamp.
The visit to the festival was funded by St John’s Foundation.
