This half-term at The Pound is absolutely crammed with joyous family activities to keep little-ones entertained throughout the week.
There are some truly spectacular live shows. Pre-schoolers will find joy and delight in You Are The Sun, a gentle and playful, sensory, folk-inspired opera for babies and adults. Primary aged children will be amazed by the incredible puppetry and story-telling of The Museum of Marvellous Things by Practically Perfect Pictures.
If getting stuck in is more their thing, why not have a go at our Playful Collage or Painted Peacock arts and craft workshops?
Film lovers are in for a treat as well. For older children, teens and adults, we’ll be screening the Oscar-winning ‘The Boy and the Heron’ from Studio Ghibli while younger children can enjoy the heartfelt animation ‘Robot Dreams’ which includes a FREE robot building workshop before the film.

Playful Collage Workshop
FRIDAY 25 OCTOBER 10am
After the sell-out session in Spring, textile artist Jess Way is back – creating playful collages by combining fabrics, colourful papers and paints! You’ll be cutting up shapes, painting marks onto different surfaces, and combining them together to make a fun experimental piece to take home!
Magic Bubbles Mural Painting
SATURDAY 26 OCTOBER 10am
Conjure up your own magical spells on our giant collaborative mural. Help us draw potions, charms, witches, wizards and people turning into toads! Illustrator Rosie Fossett will be around to help.

The Amazing Bubbleman

Louis Pearl explores the breath-taking dynamics of bubbles, combining comedy and artistry with audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep everyone mesmerized. The Amazing Bubble Man conjures shrieks of laughter and gasps of amazement from all ages.

Painted Peacocks Workshop

KA-KAW KA-KAW! You will expect to hear the peacocks calling when we turn seashells into Corsham’s resident birds in this fun and colourful arts and crafts workshop. For kids of all ages. Under 7s should be accompanied by an adult.

HurlyBurly Theatre presents You are the Sun, a folk inspired opera for babies and grown ups that explores the magic of nature. Combining the joy of gentle classical singing and sensory play, it is an invitation to see beauty in the smallest things and to let plants be our guides. Celebrate the gift of nature and help to conjure a world out of breath, water, sunlight and soil in this magical musical adventure for 0 – 2 year olds.
The Boy and the Heron (12A)

A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death and creation, in tribute to friendship from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.
