St Augustine’s Catholic College in Trowbridge is excited to invite prospective Sixth Form students and their families to the Sixth Form Open Evening on Tuesday, December 5, from 6-8pm. This event offers an opportunity for students considering their post-16 education to experience the unique learning environment that defines St Augustine’s Sixth Form, where academic rigour, community and personal growth converge.
“On behalf of the entire school community, I would like to wish you a warm welcome to St Augustine’s,” said Headteacher Aidan Dowle. “We are incredibly proud of our college and look forward to showing you what makes this place so special.”
The evening will offer an inside look at the academic life and supportive community of St Augustine’s Sixth Form. Attendees can expect to engage in various interactive learning activities that showcase the quality of education provided at the College.
Mr Dowle notes, “We aim to give you a glimpse into the hospitality and high standards of learning that we are known for, and while one evening cannot capture everything, we hope it will reflect the passion we have for educating and nurturing each student.”
At St Augustine’s, students are placed at the centre of every decision, and the college prides itself on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where each individual is encouraged to reach their full potential. The strength of the Sixth Form lies in the quality of relationships fostered among students, teachers, and staff, and in the sense of community and family that permeates every aspect of school life.
Reflecting on the school’s values, Mr Dowle commented, “The strength of our college is in the quality of the relationships we build with each other. At St Augustine’s, a sense of community and family is the backbone of our Sixth Form environment, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that enhances the overall student experience. These values stem from the international Catholic Lasallian Community, which our school is proud to be a part of.”
A recent Ofsted report commending the college’s commitment to student success, stated, ‘The desire to provide educational opportunities which make individuals the best they can be drives all the school does. Sixth-form students are role models.’
“This Sixth Form Open Evening is the perfect opportunity for prospective students and their families to see first-hand the exceptional education and nurturing atmosphere that define St Augustine’s Catholic College,” added Mr Dowle.
