The Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre is coming to the historic grounds Glastonbury Abbey over the Easter weekend.
With a Grand Medieval Battle taking centre stage on both afternoons, the event, which takes place on 20 & 21 April, it is set to be an action packed day out for all the family.
Knights, jesters, storytellers, musicians and a medieval encampment along with a themed market will also set the scene.
The Fayre starts at 10am although the abbey’s doors open at 9am each day.
Brad Lister, the abbey’s Events Manager, said, “There really is something for everyone from battles to watch, storytelling with puppets, musicians and the chance to have a go at archery. The weather forecasters are predicting a warm weekend so it really will be a great day out and will be bringing history to life.”
Visitors can save money and beat the queues by buying tickets in advance until midnight on Friday.
Tickets will be available on the gate – the gate prices are adults £15, child £10, concession £13 and for abbey members with a valid card £9 (£5 for children). A family ticket for £40 is also available. Abbey membership must be purchased by Friday to qualify for the membership rate.
