Meet Farmer Christmas at Bath City Farm

Meet Farmer Christmas as he does the rounds before the big day. Groups of up to 10 children will sit in the roundhouse with Farmer Christmas and his elves and each receive a small present to take home. There will also be a postbox for letters to the North Pole.

Join Jude in the wooden cabin to use materials foraged from around the Farm or grown locally to create beautiful seasonal wreaths to decorate your home. Tea and cake included! Sessions run 1030am-1230pm and 130-330pm.

Sew Your Own Christmas Decoration at Bath City Farm

Sew your own Christmas decoration, choosing from a snowman, Christmas tree, Christmas pudding,  dove or robin. Either make a simple version or elaborate it with embroidered stitches as part of the design. Suitable for ages 10+ years (under 16s must accompanied by an adult). No experience necessary; all materials and tuition included.

Lead by Sarah Davies, Mental Health Programme Lead, to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Meet in the Farm’s Roundhouse and explore what the solstice is, the story of the solstice and how it has been celebrated. This will be followed by a meditation and then a chance to connect to the earth by planting bulbs that will flower in Spring. Then head down to the orchard to walk the solstice spiral and reflect on the year that’s gone and the year…

According to ancient custom, Wassailing fruit trees guarantees good crops in the Autumn. Wrap up warm, bring a pot and a wooden spoon, and take up the rituals of drumming, shouting and hurling slices of toast into the branches. As well as the traditional apple wassail, there will be actors with silly hats and ridiculous accents, and family friendly fun and games.
