The 5th Bradford on Avon Mini Book Festival takes place at Bradford on Avon library this Saturday, including loads of great events on all day with lots of fab children’s authors.
10am Goodnight Spaceman
Join award-winning picture book authorMichelle Robinson for a fun-filled session packed with storytelling, fun facts about space and arts and crafts. Ages 4+
10.30am Mingle-Making Workshop
Opal Moonbaby is dropping in from Planet Carnelia. Maudie Smith tells you more about hte lovable alien, her strange pet Garnet and the mysterious workings of the Minmangulator! Then invent your own space creature and design a planet to live on. Ages 7+
11.30am The Invincible Tony Spears
Interested in space? This is the event for you! Amazing author/illustrator Neal Layton visits with his latest chapter book The Invincible Tony Spears. Neal will be talking about his life long interest in space, reading excerpts from his book and doing live illustrations. Ages 7+
12.30pm Milton The Mighty
Meet a new kind of superhero – Milton is a spider! Help Emma Read populate BoA Library with the cutest and mightiest little spider – join her in a web of spidery crafting and activities. Ages 5+
12.30pm Writing Workshop
Welcome to Planet Earth! You are an alien and your spaceship has crash landed. Fortunately authors Chris Vick and Sophie Kirtley are on hand to be your earthing guides as you write about your curious adventures exploring this odd little planet. Ages 8+
1.30pm Asha And The Spirit Bird
Author Jasbinder Bilan invites you to join her on a Himalayan-inspired workshops. Find out more about Asha’s wild adventures and create your very own spirit bird. Ages 8+
Throughout the day – Out Of This World with Ian the Toymaker
Help take the library to a new dimension. Create your own space rocket, space vehicle, alien or planet and add it to the galaxy of extra-terrestrial wonder. All ages.
