A new youth rock band workshop is starting up in the Bath and West Wiltshire area offering music tuition to children from nine years old and above.
The STAMP School of Technology, Arts, Music Performance is based at Hamwell Farm, near Cold Ashton and Wick, and just on the outskirts of Bath. The sessions are led by experienced musicians Jonny Wharton and Alex Lane, with all instruments supplied and all standards welcome.
“It’s a great opportunity to discover the joy of playing music together, and there will be chances to cover favourite songs, write original music, and perform to an audience,” explained Jonny. “We are generally aimed at children aged nine and above, but we are open to welcoming younger students who are keen to take part.
“We aim to bring the joy of playing and performing together to students of all abilities. We are initially focused on providing band workshops, with expert private tuition also available in a variety of instruments.
“Students will be able to experience playing as a band, create their own arrangements of their chosen songs, and compose their own music, all in a beautiful rural setting.
“Our introductory rate is £25 for a two hour session, to take place on weekday evenings or at weekends.”
Jonny added that STAMP is offering a free taster on Sunday 8 March, running from midday – 4pm for anyone to go along and have a go. There will even be free cake on the day!
