A Year 6 pupils at Oldfield Park Junior School in Bath has painted a stunning picture of the school as a thank you for her time there.
Evelyn was asked to create the painting by Headteacher, Dave Goucher, who explained, “‘Evelyn joined us late this academic year pretty much just two months or so prior to lockdown. However, in that short period of time it was clear that she was a very talented artist. Indeed, the portrait of OPJS wasn’t her first masterpiece! I asked her one day if she could have a go at drawing our school and, hey presto, this was the result!
“She also produced a great video of the stages she went through which really showed the great care and length she went to in producing the artwork. I’ve no doubt great things are ahead of her at Hayesfield and beyond!”
Evelyn is a keen artist who has been painting since she was three years old, with more examples of her work being displayed on her Instagram page #evelynstruttlan
“I joined OPJS a couple months before the lockdown and my time there while short was very enjoyable and fun,” added Evelyn. “I had a lot of fun creating the painting of the school; I must be honest in that I was very nervous as this was the first time I had painted a building but thankfully it turned out pretty good.”
