Wessex Water is offering free virtual education sessions to schools as youngsters mark World Water Day on 22 March.
The water and sewerage company’s virtual education sessions generally last between 30 minutes and an hour, and will cover the value of water, the role it plays in our lives and the environment and how we can look after this precious resource.
Wessex Water’s education adviser Gillian Smith said, “Wessex Water is offering World Water Day virtual sessions, which will be available from 15 to 29 March, to schools across the region.
“Our World Water virtual education sessions will cover the value of water, the role it plays in our lives and the environment, and how we can look after this precious resource.
“Our standard virtual education sessions cover a huge range of topics, including water supply, waste water, how they are treated, the water cycle, what is sewage, how do Wessex Water use rivers, human impact, how we can all help, climate change and plastics. We aim to link our sessions with teachers’ National Curriculum objectives.
“We also have a range of resources aimed at KS1, KS2 and KS3 covering a wide range of water-based scientific topics.”
