Midford Road Children’s Nursery is seeking support from local parents with its plans to open a new nursery on Oldfield Road, just off the Bear Flat in Bath.
Amy Midford from the nursery explained, “We are hoping to open a new nursery in September 2017 and of course, subject to planning permission. We are currently in for planning permission and would love support from local families.”
“Understandably, local residents are concerned about the impact this may have on traffic increase on the road. We would encourage our families to walk to the nursery as it is in an ideal location for Oldfield Park parents and for families in The Bear Flat area.
“We would like to have 50 children a day, when at maximum capacity, with a wonderful garden and a lovely, bright and spacious, indoor space. We also plan to follow the success of our current nursery by using only the same lovely, well qualified staff team and building a great relationships with our families. We would love to work towards a similar ethos of a homely setting where we spend lots of time out in the community and having fun, exploring the outdoors.
“In our current setting we visit a local residential care home on a weekly basis, we have an allotment we tend to and we take daily visits to the theatre, woods, farm, library and other exciting community places where the children can develop into the wonderful little people they are destined to become.”
Amy added that following the closure of a couple of Bath nurseries in recent months, she feels that there is not sufficient provision for local childcare locally, and that she already has a waiting list for her planned new nursery. “If families feel that they would like to support this planning application, please visit the link here or search 34 Oldfield Road on the Banes Planning Portal and add a letter of support for the nursery.”
