“Tree Babies is about nature and mindfulness,” explains Sally Watts, the founder of the inspirational new activity that she has introduced for parents and carers across the Wiltshire region. “Tree Babies offers a way to create a connection and community for parents and babies, and the magic is in the ‘being’ and in not the ‘doing’.”
Sally explains that the as a mum herself, she recognised the benefits of simply being in natural spaces and the unique opportunity it allows for parents to connect both with themselves, but also with this babies in a beautiful setting.
“It’s a chance for you to slow the roll of life and immerse yourself into nature,” she adds. “During the classes, I will guide you with some grounding, some mindfulness practises, journaling, time to sit and just be; where you can connect with nature before we fully immerse ourselves into some forest bathing. We complete our sessions with a tea ceremony and some gratitude, no matter how small and no matter how things might be, finding some good in each day makes them all better.
“Mental health is key in these classes – I am a big mental health advocate and I want to make sure as a new parent or a seasoned parent with a new addition to the family that you are all heard and well. This is a class for being rather than doing – heart over head, experience over expectation. There is nothing to do, there is nothing to change, and the moment is always now!
“Throughout the sessions, I encourage baby wearing as your little one will be so content to be getting all they need from you whilst enjoying the beauty of nature that will be all around them.”
