There’s a fuel-injected programme of fun family activities on offer at Haynes Motor Museum this Easter (1-16 April).
Located in Sparkford, just off the A303 and packed with precious metal, Haynes Motor Museum is the UK’s largest exhibition of the greatest cars from around the world.
Younger visitors can become Eggsplorers and track down the giant eggs hidden around the Museum. Spot the letters, taken from iconic motoring badges and work out the mystery word, and receive your prize!
Home to a unique collection of historic, rare and valuable vehicles, Haynes Motor Museum has plenty to keep the whole family entertained, whatever the weather. From learning how a car works and having fun with Paint a Mini, to navigating your way around the museum on the Explorer Trail, collecting brass rubbings along the way.
There’s also Haynes Motorland, a fantastic outside playground, with junior go-karts, an interactive garage and mini road system. Especially younger drivers can hop into a fleet of tiny cars and be transported in style around the collection.
Opened in 1985, the Museum was the brainchild of John Haynes OBE in 1985, mastermind behind the world-famous Haynes car manuals. Housed within 15 exhibition areas, its vast collection spans everything from the birth of motoring and nostalgic classics of the 50s and 60s, to glorious Bentleys and Rolls Royces and the stunning supercars of today.
- Marvel at some of the most extraordinary vehicles ever built including an incredibly rare 1931 Duesenberg Model J, a favourite of the Museum’s founder John Haynes and valued in excess of £12m.
- Feel the need for speed with a Williams Formula 1 car driven by racing legend Nigel Mansell and the iconic Eighties supercar, the Lamborghini Countach.
- Don’t miss the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT, one of the most classic profiles in sports car history, and travel back in time to the birth of motoring with a replica 19th century Benz Motor Wagen, the world’s first motorised vehicle.
