February 28 – 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
£8Did you know that our beautiful freshwater streams and rivers depend on one of the most unexpected key-stone species – our elusive little white-clawed crayfish? Discover how this surprising and delicate species is being conserved very close to home in the fight against freshwater habitat fragmentation, pollution and invasive species. Find out what a ‘berried female’ is, why it is endangered and delve into their habitat and life-cycle with our regular speaker Dr Jen Nightingale, Bristol Zoological Society’s UK Conservation Manager, and Nicola Cooke, the hatchery manager. Suitable for adults and children aged 14+.
