Sheldon School in Chippenham is delighted to share a strong set of results achieved by our A-level students in 2024. These have improved on last year’s outcomes and have ensured that nearly all of students were able to attend University or apprenticeship placements they had chosen.
There are some outstanding results achieved by the Post 16 students, with almost a quarter of all grades achieved were at A*/A and 97% of all entries achieved were at A*-E. The average grade per entry has increased from 32.3 to 33.3 grade this year, which is above the national average.
New Headteacher Peter Lynch expressed his pride in the students’ achievements, commenting, “Our students have worked incredibly hard and showed our school value of being the best you! I would also like to extend my thanks to our dedicated staff, who always set high standards and have provided our young people with every opportunity to fulfil their potential.
“Ofsted visited the school in March and described its learning as ‘scholarly’; this is proof that this is the case. I would like to wish everyone receiving their results today every success whatever they choose to do next.”
Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, Eugene Spiers, was delighted with these results and expressed his pride in the students’ achievement. “Our students worked incredibly hard and showed real resilience and commitment to achieve these results. I would also like to extend my thanks to our hardworking staff and to all the parents and carers for their support.
“We hope that all the students keep in touch and let us know how they get on in the future.”
