News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Wiltshire-based Goughs Solicitors, who recently announced impressive accreditation from legal directory, The Legal 500, have today announced a further impressive accolade; recognition from international legal directory, Chambers & Partners.

For several years running, Goughs Solicitors have been recognised by Chambers & Partners for the excellence delivered in terms of client care and legal expertise. Both the Family and Real Estate departments have again gained impressive entries in the ranking tables due to their ‘great knowledge, good communication’ and ‘energy to drive progress.’

In addition to the department rankings, three individuals have also been ranked – Thomas Boyce, Ross Phillips and Andrew Given. This comfortably positions Goughs as a ‘Leading Firm’ in the Chambers & Partners 2025 Guide, whose legal rankings are based on independently conducted in-depth analysis and research.

Clients applauded the family team with the directory confirming that the team is ‘professional, knowledgeable and collaborative’, and offer ‘total clarity about the process’.

Thomas Boyce was praised for his ‘vast wealth of experience’, and ‘reassuring way with clients’, explains how Chambers & Partners works and what this means to the team. He explained, “Chambers’ 200+ researchers provide unique insight into the way in which firms provide legal services for their clients.  They conduct tens of thousands of interviews a year with in-house counsel and third-party experts, such as barristers and accountants, and crucially with the clients who have used that firm.

“It is their rigorous independent processes that makes us so incredibly proud to have been recognised by them. This recognition is extremely welcomed and I could not be prouder of the team for continuing to deliver at such an exceptionally high level.”

On the Real Estate ranking, Partner & Head of Real Estate, Andrew Given, was noted as, ‘an excellent lawyer with a very strong grasp of what matters commercially’. He said, “It is a great testament to the level of hard work and commitment that the Real Estate team have been recognised by such a prestigious organisation. The daily commitment we show our clients has been gratefully rewarded. I am thrilled to be able to share such good news and look forward to growing the team and receiving even more recognition throughout 2025.”
