More than 130 people took part in RUHX’s first Glow Run event on Friday 25 October, in aid of Royal United Hospitals Bath. Sponsored by Freestyle Designs, the 3km fun run took place after dark at Odd Down Sports Ground.
The evening started with a warm up from The Little Gym Bath, before participants set off along the colourfully lit course. People walked, hopped and even roller skated, wearing fancy dress and glow sticks to light up the night for their local hospital. Glow Runners celebrated completing their challenge in the UV after-glow disco.
Over £4,000 has been raised from the event so far, which helps RUHX go further for every patient, putting the ‘extra’ in extraordinary care for everyone who needs it.
Ellie Wilkinson, Events & Community Officer at RUHX, said, “A massive thank you and well done to everyone who took part in our first ever Glow Run! It was fantastic to see so many families, hospital staff, and people from across our community come along to support a great cause.
“We’d also like to thank Flashback Tape who kindly donated reflective tape for us to use on the course.”
A date for the Glow Run 2025 will be announced soon. You can register your interest by heading to ruhx.org.uk/events/glow-run.
