RUHX is bringing the community together to enjoy an evening of holiday classics performed by local musicians, live readings, and festive treats at their Christmas Concert on 10 December at All Saints Church, Weston, Bath.
The concert see a line-up of talented musicians supporting RUHX at this year’s concert, and visitors can expect to see performances from Marshfield Male Voice Choir, Take Five Wind Quintet, Oldfield School Choir and RUH musician in residence, Frankie Simpkins.
The concert is designed to highlight the importance of connecting, community and the care that happens within the RUH and the local community throughout December and beyond.
Frankie Simpkins, Musician in Residence and Music Coordinator at Art at the Heart, explained, “Being musician in residence at the RUH is an absolute privilege all year round, but at Christmas time there is something special about it.
“Hospital in the festive season is a unique place, I can have staff and patients requesting Christmas songs and singing along together, or I can have some patients who don’t feel Christmassy at all and would rather have something different. As always, I approach my work completely patient-led, to enhance the wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors through music.
“The children’s ward can be particularly enjoyable at Christmas. In the past I have supported a family in writing their own personalised family Christmas song, which was really special. I’m really looking forward to singing at the RUHX Christmas concert, bringing some festive joy to the community and supporting RUHX.”
You can find further information about the musicians, speakers and more all over on the RUHX website, RUHX.org.uk. Adult tickets at £16 and Child tickets at £7.
