Christmas at Dyrham Park
December 12 – 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, repeating until 5th January 2025
The house will be dressed with festive decorations from seven different eras from Tudor times right up to the 20th century including a new 1980s room filled with colour, fun and authentic items from the decade of decadence. Visitors can work out which room matches which period, helped by decorations, yuletide customs and objects, and children can look out for tiny fancily dressed fabric deer hiding in each room. In addition, there will be pear-themed decorations, a large outdoor Christmas tree and more inside, wreath-making workshops and the chance to take a festive selfie next to a giant wreath. Families can follow a reindeer discovery trail around the site. Local choirs will be singing carols and festive tunes at weekends in the church of St Peter next to the estate (23 November-22 December).
A wassail to bless the harvest for the year ahead with singing, chanting and a procession of music and bashing pots will take place on 4 January.
