Heritage Open Week 2024

A packed programme of events in a variety of venues such as churches, mills, and cemeteries, as well as exclusive talks and guided tours, family friendly activities and trails.

Highlights include find out what it was like to live in Roman Bath with activities, crafts and rituals at the Roman Baths; explore objects on a store tour of the Roman Baths Local History Store; see inside the store rooms at Bath Record Office and discover how the collections are maintained; store tour at Victoria Art Gallery to explore the collections; free admission to the gardens at the American Museum & Gardens and Prior Park; join historian Ann Cullis at Museum of Bath at Work to hear tales about the museum  which was originally built as a ‘real tennis’ court in 1777; visit Albert Mill in Keynsham dating from 1700; see the remains of medieval Kensham Abbey, and learn about its history with a guided talk and a ‘Monk’s Trail’ for children; or visit Church of Our Lady and St Alphege, Magdalen Chapel and Walcot Methodist Chapel.
