The Grand Stonehenge Dahlia at Stonehenge

September 27 – 9:30 am - 7:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 9:30 am, repeating until 29th September 2024

During the 1840s, Stonehenge hosted popular dahlia shows attracting crowds of thousands of people. The historic shows involved a variety of competitions, including the creation of sculptures made entirely from flowers and the cultivation of prize-winning dahlias. Discover expertly crafted floral sculptures, admire locally grown dahlias, and vote for your favourite in a traditional show and experience a dahlia meadow and take a selfie amongst the breath-taking floral displays. The event will also feature two fresh floral mannequins designed by Fleurs de Villes which have been based on figures from Stonehenge’s recent past.

Come dressed to impress, just as the Victorian visitors would have done, and enjoy the sounds of the Shrewton Silver Band who will be performing at the visitor centre on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
