A dedicated slot in the calm and curiosity led soft play space with calming lower volume music, easy ground floor access, zero judgement zone, lots of sensory toys and clean soft play equipment, an opportunity to build a support network with other parents.

Celebrate the beauty and abundance that autumn has to offer with a fun day out for all of the family. There will be apple pressing, forest school, bouncy castle, face painting, pumpkin carving, games, storytelling with Alex, and refuel with toasted marshmallows on the firepit and a mulled cider.

Free admission for families during half-term (26 October – 3 November) and a ‘Fantastical Tails’ gallery trail inspired by the wonderful creatures and animals in Chila Burman and Paula Rego’s work; suitable for ages 6yrs+.

Conjure up your own magical spells on the giant collaborative mural by drawing potions, charms, witches, wizards and people turning into toads or whatever your imagination determines! Illustrator Rosie Fossett will be around to help. Free drop-in event for all ages, no pre-booking required.

Go on a steam-hauled train ride and be entertained by Gizmo the Magic Wizard! Then, back at Bitton Station, see birds of prey from Pitcombe Rock Falconry and enjoy the autumnal trail around the station. Children who come in Halloween fancy dress will travel free of charge.

Loki the Owl and his feathered friends, Billy and Midnight, will take over the museum’s Concorde Hangar Studio during their visit. Seoaring from post to post, Loki will help teach guests more about how owls fly, and they will also have the chance to take a photograph with him.

A new Son et Lumiere installation marking the first light and sound installation in the Abbey.
