Kingswood Senior School Open Morning
An opportunity for prospective pupils and their families to tour of the School with current pupils, and participate in tasks and activities, meet with key staff members and hear a presentation from Headmaster, Mr Gordon-Brown (the last tour will take place around 11.00am). During the 1840s, Stonehenge hosted popular dahlia shows attracting crowds of thousands of people. The historic shows involved a variety of competitions, including the creation of sculptures made entirely from flowers and the cultivation of prize-winning dahlias. Free exhibition featuring a selection of the 150,000 artefacts, specimens and books donated and cared for in our the collections of the Institute. Highlighting key people and events in the Institution’s history to demonstrate how it survived through two centuries. Some items are on show for the first time and will explore the circumstances in which they found their way into the Collection, and what this reveals of the shifts in our scientific, cultural and moral understanding over this period.
