An opportunity to take a tour of the School and meet with Staff members.

Free exhibition featuring a selection of the 150,000 artefacts, specimens and books donated and cared for in our the collections of the Institute. Highlighting key people and events in the Institution’s history to demonstrate how it survived through two centuries. Some items are on show for the first time and will explore the circumstances in which they found their way into the Collection, and what this reveals of the shifts in our scientific, cultural and moral understanding over this period.

Free admission for families during half-term (26 October – 3 November) and a ‘Fantastical Tails’ gallery trail inspired by the wonderful creatures and animals in Chila Burman and Paula Rego’s work; suitable for ages 6yrs+.

Celebrating a journey through the diversity of American landscapes, history and culture in this contemporary, immersive experience, where visitors join in and share their own stories. There will be large-scale-travel games, theatrical sets, and an array of American road-trip memorabilia, as well a chance to get up close to an original 1958 Harley Davidson Duo Glide motorcycle, on loan from Haynes Motor Museum. Featuring around 100 posters, this blockbuster show brings bohemian Montmartre to Bath with bright colours and bold lines, Toulouse-Lautrec's striking artwork captured the essence of turn-of-the-century Parisian nightlife. Pieces include his first poster of the Moulin Rouge and the cancan dancers of La Troupe de Mademoiselle Eglantine, alongside works by other celebrated artists of the day. A new ‘follow on’ course from the baby massage course for parents who have completed the initial 5-week course and would like to continue enjoying a weekly meet up of other parents and enjoying dedicated time with baby. The sessions will include lots of baby massage, relaxation and stretch for mum and baby, fun story telling and songs incorporating massage and gentle movements, and a chance to relax with your baby in a lovely weekly session. A free group for teens aged 13-18 years living in BANES offering a variety of activities to help young people relax and connect with nature. Activities include creative expression, mindful exercises, and gardening in a supportive environment to provide and opportunity to take a break from daily studies and stresses, engage with peers, and boost wellbeing and self-confidence.
