Stardust at Bath Abbey
Over 200 primary school children will perform a journey through the solar system overcoming challenges on each planet as well as the world premiere of the song ‘We are every child’ composed in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum jubilee. The performances will be accompanied by the Bristol Ensemble, narrated by Jon Monie and directed by Francis Faux. The performance was written as a response to the pandemic, showing how children build on adversity and come out stronger.

Medieval Monks at Bath Abbey
Step back in time for an exciting taste of Benedictine monastic life in the 12th Century. Meet and chat with costumed experts from Angevins (a Living History group) who will demonstrate and explain historical skills such as living and working as a Benedictine monk, illustrating books in the ‘Scriptorium’, concocting herbal medicine, spinning and weaving, and preparing food and drink.

Half Term Family Fun at Bath Abbey
A rare opportunity to view important manuscripts from the Abbey’s Archive. They will include commemorative books, parish registers, a Book of Remembrance and other examples of finely written documents. There will be the chance to learn the art of Palaeography (deciphering difficult to read writing) from the Abbey’s archivist and volunteers. Meet costumed experts in historic medieval calligraphy who will demonstrate their skills and give tips to try out quills and nib pens for themselves. Feel inspired by stunning examples…

Stargazing Bath Astronomers with at Bath Abbey
Stargazing tours led by the Bath Astronomers. An opportunity to climb the Tower and explore the skies above the City (weather dependent).
