The pupils from Bathampton Primary School enjoyed a visit from Ian Waller, the editor of The Bath & Wiltshire Parent, this week, so that Ian could tell them more about the role of a magazine editor and pass on some tips for the school’s own magazine, The Bathampton Bell.
Following a brief talk from Ian, the children were invited to ask him questions about the editor’s job – these included how long it takes to put a magazine together, what his favourite job as a journalist had been and advice on how to get into journalism.
Ian was joined by Lian Nicholson who helped the children to put the first issue of their magazine together and encouraged them to take part in the writing and editing of the next issue.
