Stonar Prep School in Atworth, Wiltshire, has raised a fantastic £3,579 for Cancer Research, the current school charity.
Lucy Walker from the charity’s Wiltshire office, came in to collect the cheque in a special assembly.
Pupils have taken part in fundraising activities throughout the year including pyjama nights, mufti days, disco, collections after performances and an Easter egg raffle. A group from the Prep Choir performed at Lowden Garden Centre as part of a charity auction event. A highlight was the horseless cross-country, with pupils indefatigably running sponsored laps of our cross-country course, and up, over and under the jumps on the way.
“Pupils have thrown themselves into fundraising with great enthusiasm and I have been so impressed with their determination to raise what they can,” said Mark Brain, Head of Prep. “We’re delighted with the total they have achieved.”
The pupils have now selected their charity for the coming year and have voted to support Help for Heroes in 2017/18.
