Stonar School, in Atworth, Wiltshire, has announced the expansion of its nursery offering starting in September 2024, giving families more choice during their child’s crucial early years.
Stonar’s nursery, located on the same campus as its prep and senior schools, welcomes children aged two to four years. Currently, two-year-olds can only attend during school term times. But come September, Stonar will offer a brand new year-round (51 weeks) option for them, on top of the existing term-time programme.
The school is also extending the early morning and after-school care options for these younger pupils.
In addition, Stonar is introducing a new ‘Term-time Plus’ option. This allows families who choose the term-time option to add on extra nursery weeks during school holidays (depending on availability) for ultimate flexibility.
“We’ve taken the time to listen to our parents,” said Rob Cunningham, Stonar’s Head of Prep. “In today’s world, with many families having two working parents, flexible childcare is essential.
“We know every family’s situation is different, so we’re committed to offering childcare options that work for everyone. We’ll still have our term-time only option, but we’re excited to introduce a new 51-week year-round programme for all nursery children from the age of two upwards.”
Stonar School is a co-educational day and boarding school for ages 2-18. With a nursery, prep school and senior school all located on a stunning 80-acre countryside campus in Atworth, the expansion of the nursery programme reflects its focus on Early Years education as the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
