After seven long years of fundraising, Three Ways School has opened its 3 Café & Kitchen, a purpose built café and training centre.
Years ago, head teacher Julie Dyer had a vision of a community based training centre, which would allow pupils of this special needs school based in Odd Down, Bath, the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience in a café setting, as well as the means to earn an accredited qualification in subjects as food hygiene and hospitality.
With grants and donations from companies, foundations and charities, along with some great fundraising from parents, pupils and friends, the school has managed to raise over £450,000 for this amazing project.
The fully accessible café is open to the public Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm and Saturday Mornings from 8am to 12pm, with a menu consisting of breakfast, light lunches and array of amazing homemade cakes. What’s more, it features an internal bi-folding partition that allows part of the café to be converted into a meeting room that can be hired. The room comfortably seats 20 people and comes with an interactive TV for presentations. Free parking is available onsite for up to 7 vehicles. A safe and secure garden and seating area will be added in the near future.
