Sad news – Castle Gardens Pre-school in Bradford on Avon is to close this summer after 30 years of working with local children and families. Pre-school manager, Sharon Sheppard, explained that the decision was forced by the fact that the church which own the Lambert Rooms which house the pre-school has decided to sell the building to pay for church repairs.
“It’s such a pity,” said Sharon, “but we have tried to find a new venue with no luck. We’ve seen so many children, including my own, attending the pre-school, and now we’re even seeing them come back with their own children. It’s always been such a community organisation with all of the parents being involved with the running of the pre-school, and you just don’t find that sort of pre-school anymore around here.”
Sharon added that there will a farewell party on Saturday 15 July at the Lambert Centre from 1.30pm onwards. “If the weather is dry please feel free to bring your own picnic and a blanket to sit on. We will be providing cakes and refreshments and would love to see anybody who has been connected to Castle Gardens in any way either as a pupil, parent or member of staff over the past 25 years.”
