Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Road Safety officers have recommended the Good Egg Safety website for anyone looking for help and information on the correct fitting of in-car safety restraints.
The move follows the teams’ recent in-car safety clinics held in Midsomer Norton and Bath, which were well attended by parents, childminders and grandparents, all of who rated and fully supported the clinics, with many returning year upon year.
Of the 194 car seats checked, 47% were correctly fitted, 38% were incorrectly fitted, 10% had booster cushions and 5% of vehicles failed to have a child car seat. Despite a positive increase and improvement on last year’s clinics, Bath & North East Somerset Council remains committed to raising awareness via this important initiative to ensure all children remain safe when travelling on our busy roads.
This is the fifth year in succession that the Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Road Safety officers have teamed up with ‘Child Seat Safety’, the in-car safety professionals, to offer advice and a child car seat fitting service for those transporting little ones.
