The organisers of Bath Carnival have announced that next year’s summer carnival will take place on Saturday 21 July.
After the success of this year’s event, which saw the return of Party in the Park at Sydney Gardens, plans are in place to grow the spectacle with a larger procession and higher profile live bands at the festival event.
Carnival Organiser, Stuart Matson, explained, “This year was a fantastic year for us, we saw more children and young adults take part in the workshop programme and performing on the day than ever before. In 2018 one of our biggest aims is to engage more children in the project with more schools participating in the workshop programme.”
The annual Bath Carnival project includes a three month carnival workshop programme engaging schools, charities, disability groups, community groups and vulnerable adults in the arts.
The free outdoor event, now in its sixth year, provides these groups with an opportunity to exhibit their skills in front of a live audience.
Schools across B&NES are now being invited to sign-up to this year’s Bath Carnival workshop programme, offering pupils the chance to learn how to drum, dance and make colourful carnival costumes.
