Komedia Bath will be hosting a great variety of family-orientated events over the next few months, ranging from raves and discos to comedy and action.
Opening the season is Big Fish Little Fish on Sunday 15 April offers an afternoon of afternoon of child-friendly acid house, techno, house, hip hop, drum ‘n’ bass for families with 0-8 year olds as part of the ‘Around the World in 18 Raves’ Camp Bestival warm up tour. Avast ye land lubbers and dance together on a dance floor filled with bubbles, balloons, glitter and topped by the parachute dance! Get nautically crafty on the craft tables and enjoy a bit of sea leave in the baby chill out or play areas. Chance to win a family ticket to Camp Bestival and have fun with their photo booth. Licensed bar for the odd tot of rum.
Headline DJ rave legends 2 Bad Mice, plus residents Little My & High Eight play (grown up) dance music on the multi-sensory dancefloor with glitter cannons, bubbles, balloons and giant parachute dance.
BYOB (Bring Your Own Baby) is a comedy show for parents featuring the funniest stars from the circuit and TV, where you’re invited to bring your little ones along too! These events provide soft flooring, toys, buggy parking and baby changing so that your baby is happy while parents and carers can relax, have a drink and be entertained! Look out for these shows on 8 May and 3 July.
Rocktopus, ‘the ultimate rock band for kids and families’, will be rocking out on 19 May for everyone from 3-103. Join the band, learn the moves, and get involved in this truly interactive experience for kids and adults alike. Expect favourites from their hugely popular debut album, brand new songs, epic party games, face painting, ocean craft, album signing and more!
Baby Loves Disco will be strutting its funky stuff on 3 June. After over a decade of family day clubbing events across the globe, the original family dance party makes its Bath Fringe debut. Real club DJs spin and mix feel good chart floor fillers wth nostalgic pop classics from the years before parenthood struck. This is fun event for parents and babies, toddlers and young children to enjoy together.
Meanwhile, on every Friday through term time, Super Pirates will be transforming Komedia’s huge dance floors into a fun-ackee, pop-up play area from 10.30am-12.30pm. There will be dens, crazy dens, dancing and generally lots of good fun, as well as play mats, toys and plenty of space for buggies and feeding.
