Pupils at Corsham Regis Primary Academy will all be enjoying a colourful welcome to their school as a result of a new mural in the entrance area.
The artwork has been created by Sarah Hodges, the school’s Photocopying and Display Assistant, as part of an initiative to show what an inclusive community Corsham Regis offers to all of its pupils, staff and visitors.
“Sarah sketched the image first and and researched the languages which we wanted to include before putting her adept painting skills to use,” explained headteacher, Gareth Spicer. “It’s now finished and sits neatly underneath our beautiful peacock mural, which Sarah also painted as part of our new entrance area.
“I am so happy with the quality of Sarah’s work and the warm welcoming message it gives to the Corsham Regis community. She has done an excellent job and has a special talent for this type of thing.
“With school being only partially open at present, only a handful of our pupils have seen the artwork. However, with the news that all 175 pupils will be back in September, including our new reception children, what better way to to welcome them to the start of a new school year with this beautiful painting.”
