News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

To mark the historic occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, South-West law firm Mogers Drewett Solicitors launched a special Jubilee competition. They asked all primary school aged children across the region region to design some bunting for the Jubilee and were delighted with the response.

With over 400 entries, the judges really struggled to pick just three winners, but they eventually made their final choice, and the winners are –

Thornford Primary School in Sherborne
  • In the 4-5 years category – Lucia from Thornford Primary School in Sherborne.
St John’s Catholic Primary School in Bath
  • Roni was the 6-8 years winner from St John’s Catholic Primary School in Bath.
  • The winner of the 9–11-year category was Eva from Oldfield Park Junior School (pictured at the top).

Mogers Drewett Marketing Manager, Louise Kelly, said, “We want to say a huge thank you to all the schools that took part and congratulate all the children who created some really amazing artwork. Well done to our three winners, Lucia, Roni and Eva, we can’t wait to see your winning bunting hanging up at school”

Elizabeth Dowler, Emma Coate and Gina Doswell from Mogers Drewett went along to the schools this week to hand out the prizes. Emma said, “It was so lovely to present the children with their voucher and to see their reaction when they saw their winning bunting design brought to life.”

Elizabeth added, “we are also pleased to be able to give the winning schools £500 each, at a time when fund raising is tough.”
