News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Local baby and child swim school, Puddle Ducks Bristol and Bath, is expanding its child-led lessons to more people by launching at The Chocolate Quarter, in Keynsham. The spa pool environment will ease children into their swimming journey, and the pool benefits from well-equipped changing rooms and onsite parking.

Lessons at The Chocolate Quarter will be for babies and pre-schoolers (ages 6 months to 4 years), and begin on Friday 1st July, allowing families to begin their child’s swimming journey prior to the summer holidays.

“We are delighted to be launching lessons in Keynsham,” said Sarah Austin, owner of Puddle Ducks Bristol and Bath. “Not only will it increase our swim school capacity further, but the tranquil pool will be a wonderful setting for our little swimmers to learn a key life skill. We currently teach over 1,300 children to swim each week across the region, but we know the demand for swimming lessons is still prevalent, as hundreds of children have missed out on lessons due to pool closures and a swimming teacher shortage.

“The Chocolate Quarter is situated very close to Keynsham train station and the A4174 outer ring road, making its location easily accessible from East Bristol and Bath, ensuring our lessons can reach more families in smaller surrounding villages, as well as catering for Keynsham itself.

“Puddle Ducks will have exclusivity of the pool, meaning children and parents are free to take their time and learn at their own pace in the company of other families. Puddle Ducks lessons teach children to love the water whilst learning to swim beautifully.”
