There’s so much for families to look forward to at Bath’s Egg Theatre in February, including a chance to catch Snow Mouse, which has returned by popular demand for an incredible eighth year.

Snow Mouse

This delightful show for the very young is appearing until 5 February at The Roper Room. Full of play, puppetry and music, it follows two new friends exploring a winter wonderland, keeping each other safe and warm from the winter freeze. Perfect for those aged 6 months to 4 years, Snow Mouse is performed by Emile Clarke (A Christmas Getaway, The Scarlet Pimpernel) and presented by The Egg together with Travelling Light Theatre Company.

The Good Listening Show

On Friday 3 February, Bristol-based comedian and MoJo Coach, Chris Grimes, hosts his podcast, The Good Listening To Show, which will be presented in front of an audience as it is recorded and streamed live to YouTube. With two separate sessions, 5pm audiences can hear the founding story of The Egg, in the company of its Artistic Director Kate Cross MBE, while 7.30pm ticket holders can hear Chris in conversation with Bath favourite Jon Monie talking about the magic of Pantomime. Aimed at adults and older teenagers, the event is recommended for ages 14 and over.

Ernie’s Journey

Also at the start of the month, Clementines Live Arts present Ernie’s Journey at The Egg, for children aged 4 to 9 years. This magical circus theatre adventure follows Ernie, as he discovers how being himself can lead to all kinds of adventures. Integrating poetry, puppetry and stage magic, this dazzling spectacle featuring an original live harp scoreand raucous sea shanties appears at The Egg on Sunday 5 February.

Everything Has Changed

Everything Has Changed is a joyful new family show about change, created by award-winning theatre company Rhum + Clay, awarded four stars by both The Guardian and British Theatre Guide. This fast-moving, physical adventure comes to The Egg from Thursday 9 to Saturday 11 February.

Exploring the chaos of the last few years, the show allows children aged 5 to 11 years to share their hopes for the future, as they examine why change happens and how to deal with it, in this performance made in consultation with a child psychologist and children across London.

Hermit

Simone De Jong presents Hermit at The Egg, a wordless work incorporating movement, music and imagination, for audiences aged two to six years. This solo show about being alone and coming home, appears on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 February. Awarded four stars by The Scotsman, Hermit is generously supported by the Embassy of The Netherlands.

Club Origami

Families can dive into the magical world of Club Origami from Takeshi Matsumoto, back by popular demand at The Egg this month. An immersive and interactive dance show appearing from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 February, where audiences aged one to five years can create and explore new ways of thinking, playing and moving.

The Snow Beast

The Snow Beast, the perfect treat for families this Half Term, is a captivating collision of storytelling, original music, puppetry and interactive science experiments. Presented by Scratchworks Theatre Company, audiences aged six years and over, can join Faina and her owl assistant, Maude, as they battle through the wilderness in search of the truth about the Snow Beast. This two-act play appears at The Egg on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February.

The Dark

Back by popular demand at the end of this month, The Dark returns to The Egg on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 February. Presented by Peut-Être Theatre and from the book by Lemony Snicket, illustrated by Jon Klassen, this production for ages four years and over follows Laszlo, who meets The Dark living in his basement and makes sure it will never bother him again. The Dark is accessible for blind and visually impaired children through integrated audio-description and touch tours.
