Children’s charity, the Youth Adventure Trust, is celebrating the resounding success of their recent Virtual Resilience Challenge, which received an overwhelming response from children across the UK. Held over the February half-term weeks, the challenge saw participants cover a staggering 2,130km on foot, by bike and even on skis.

The challenge was created to encourage children to get outdoors, stay active, and build resilience, while also raising funds for the Youth Adventure Trust.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of the children who participated in the challenge, the Youth Adventure Trust has raised enough funds to provide activity days for 44 vulnerable young people during the upcoming Easter holidays. This is a fantastic achievement and will have a significant impact on the lives of these young people, who will benefit from the positive effects of spending time outdoors, building new skills, and making new friends.

The Youth Adventure Trust is a charity that supports vulnerable young people by providing outdoor activity programmes that help build confidence, resilience, and life skills. 50% of the young people on their Programmes don’t do any other activities outside of the Youth Adventure Trust. The cost of living crisis is limiting their opportunities so these days are more important than ever.

“The Resilience Challenge was a fantastic opportunity for children to get active, challenge themselves, and support a great cause,” said Mark Davey, CEO of the Youth Adventure Trust. “We are incredibly grateful to all the children who took part in the challenge and helped us raise funds to support our work with vulnerable young people.

“The money raised will make a real difference to the lives of those we support, and we are excited to provide activity days for 44 young people this Easter.”

The Youth Adventure Trust is already planning its next challenge, the Wiltshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 17 June, and encourages all to get involved and continue supporting their work.
