If your creative juices need a top up, the Pound Arts centre in Corsham is the place to be this summer. Explore techniques in lino-cutting and printmaking, beautifully capture your life and the world around you through art journaling, or spend the day strolling and sketching on a river bank in these summer arts workshops for adults, all led by passionate, professional artists.
Don’t worry, little ones can get stuck in as well with a fun and creative puppet making workshop, as well as our usual BRICKING IT! and Sketch and Doodle summer holiday sessions.

Jigsaws & Rainbows: Multi-block Linocuts with Caroline Rudge
Tuesday 4, 11, 18 July, 6pm-9pm
Design an A5 colour multi-block design, learn new painting techniques such as rainbow rolls, and make your own registration plate to ensure beautiful prints every time. Caroline will be on hand to guide you through each step of the process. No need to prepare a design, but come with some print ideas.

Further Adventures in Art Journaling
with Jo Beal

Create your own amazing art journal pages. Using demo videos, presentation, and step by step guidance, Jo will help you develop the creative habit of art journaling. Focusing on different approaches to drawing and lettering, this four week course will encourage you to observe and capture the world around you.

Printing with Leaves using Heat Press with Clare Walsh
Tuesday 18 July, 10am-4pm
A day exploring colour and textures using disperse dyes and heat press to create unique designs. After a demonstration of the heat press you will experiment with painting dye papers and applying colours in preparation for printing. This method creates vibrant designs and surprising results.

Creative River Walk with Artist James Aldridge
Wednesday 9 August, 10am-1pm
Meet James at his exhibition Drawing on Water to hear more about how he walks and makes besides Wiltshire’s rivers, before leaving The Pound to explore the nearby Byde Mill Brook. Use creative marking techniques to record what you notice about the Brook and how it has changed over time.

Colourful Shadow Puppets with Caroline Rudge

Join resident artist Caroline Rudge to make shadow puppets with a twist! In this fun and bright workshop, you will make colourful characters, animals or insects, using simple materials, then show them off in the mini shadow theatre! All ages welcome but under 7’s accompanied by an adult please.
