Children from 40 schools in Bath entered this year’s Fireworks Safety Poster competition sponsored by Bath Building Society and supported by The Rotary Club of Bath. 

The winners of the five categories were given a money voucher to open a Bath Building Society Account, an art set and a Bath Building Society goody bag. They will also have the chance to visit the Fire Station in Bath arranged by Avon Fire & Rescue Service. 

Age 4-5 Group

1. Elsie Jordan-Mayhew – Batheaston Primary School

2. Malaki Woods – Weston All Saints Primary School

3. Rosie Darbyshire – Moorlands Junior School

Age 6-7 Group

1. Paige Francis – Combe Down Primary School

2. Adam Rowan Calka – Bathwick St Mary Church School

3. Ivy Jordan-Mayhew – Batheaston Primary School

Age 8-9 Group

1. Forest Moon – Weston All Saints Primary School

2. Isabella Leybourne – Bathwick St. Mary Church School

3. Fred Carver – Weston All Saints Primary School

 Age 10+ Group

1. Ava Hourizi – St Stephens Church School

2. Blythe Shaw – St Andrew’s Church School

3. Ellie Tamas – Farmborough Church Primary School

Special Schools Group

1. Kieran Weston – Three Ways

2. Maddie Williams – Three Ways

3. Gabriel Baggridge -Three Ways

The overall winner of the competition was Elsie Jordan-Mayhew from Batheaston Primary School.

The posters were judged on their Fireworks safety message and artistic merit. The judges for this year’s competition were: Councillor Dine Romero, Mayor of Bath; Meghann Elvin – Children & Young Persons Manager from Avon Fire & Rescue; Emily Cook – Youth Intervention Lead also from Avon Fire & Rescue; Alan Gait from The Rotary Club of Bath; and Tiffany Hardie-Albutt from Bath Building Society.

All the children that entered the competition have been given access to a Free Child Voucher that can be exchanged for a ticket to the Display when purchasing an Adult ticket.

The Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday 4th November this year at The Recreation Ground, organised by The Rotary Club of Bath.
