The Solsbury Hill Ensemble is putting on a family Community Christmas Coffee Concert at Batheaston Hall on Monday 18th December. Expect music ranging classical treasures such as The Nutcracker and The Snowman to Christmas carols, Christmas pop classics, music from Disney’s Frozen and plenty more!
This concert will feature local professional musicians Alison Boden (violin), Lucy Hewson (violin and viola) and Lorna Davis (cello).
The musicians can often be seen playing locally and nationally, whether that is with the Pump Room Trio, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Welsh National Opera or leading Bath Symphony Orchestra. Other highlights include regularly playing live on Radio, on CD recordings, on TV and at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, The Coliseum, The London Palladium and The Royal Opera House to name a few! They are proud to now be working for Live Music Now, the charity founded by Yehudi Menuhin as a way to make music accessible to all.
“We are so excited to bring this Christmas Concert to Batheaston,” said Alison. “We had such a great time playing for you all in October and loved seeing how much everyone enjoyed it. We especially loved the mix of ages at the event and how everyone could appreciate the music side by side.
“For children, there will be plenty to keep them interested whether that is getting close to the musicians, dancing with ribbons or scarfs, listening, drawing to the music, asking questions, creating using play dough or eating cake! If children (or adults!) would like to wear any Christmas outfits please do. There will be plenty of sparkle in this concert!”
Arrive from 10.30am for chat, coffee and cake/mince pies, with the music starting at 11am. To keep the music centre stage, we shall stop serving at 11 so please arrive in time to grab your complimentary coffee/tea and cake (with pre-booked tickets) and get seated.
