Congratulations to Mollie-George Appleton from Widcombe Junior School who has won the annual Christmas card competition held by Wera Hobhouse MP for Bath

Wera launched her annual Christmas card competition in October, inviting local schoolchildren to submit their designs inspired by the theme ‘Christmas in Bath’.

Mollie-George’s prize winning design

There were many beautiful and creative designs, and 11 year old Mollie-George’s captured so much of what it means to be entranced by the magic across Bath at Christmas time. Wera also sent a special mention to Jaxon, aged 7, of St Michael’s Junior School in Twerton, whose colourful depiction of Bath’s Christmas Market earned him the runner-up award.

Mollie-George’s artwork will feature in Wera’s personal Christmas card and land on doormats all over the country and beyond this festive season.

“I just loved Mollie-George’s stunning creation, with its joyful, popping colours, attention to detail, and extremely high-quality execution,” said Wera. “And I had such fun spotting all the Bath references included in the design!

“Congratulations to Mollie-George, and thank you to all the children who entered. It was wonderful to see all your amazing pictures. I cannot wait to share the young talent Bath has to offer through my Christmas cards.”
