News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

If you’re one of those parents or carers who at the end of a busy week would love someone to put a glass of wine in your hand and feed your children, while you just take a breath and have a moment to relax with friends, then Wine Down Fridays at Bath Soft Cheese could be just the thing for you

“It was this thought that has led us to the launch of Wine Down Fridays from 3.30 to 5.30pm on Fridays at Bath Soft Cheese in Kelston,” explained Hugh Padfield, owner of Bath Soft Cheese.

“Being a family business, we are very aware of how challenging working and raising a family can be. So every Friday, the team at Bath Soft Cheese Cafe is going to transform our cafe into a haven for primary-school aged children and their adults alike.

“For parents there’ll be glasses of fine wine – alongside a selection of locally sourced soft drinks – and sharing boards of award-winning cheese and charcuterie. Meanwhile, for the kids there’ll be wholesome hearty food and space to charge around outside. If that isn’t tempting enough, the farm cafe has decided to offer a free kids hot chocolate when you buy a glass of wine.

The beautiful cafe with its extensive crittal windows often looks its best at the end of the day as it catches the last of the sunlight from the West. It’s the perfect place to take some time to relax with friends at the end of the day.

“The children will be happy with dishes like mac ‘n’ cheese or toasties, colouring crayons to scribble on the menus and the outdoor playground. They can see the end of the afternoon milking, watch the chickens and ducks, or even have a peak in the calf barn to see our babies.”

Bath Soft Cheese is launching this weekly event on Friday the 23 February, with booking advised at 01225 436332.
