Bath Abbey is set to be transformed from 2-26 October with the exciting premiere of Shine On a brand-new, bespoke Son et Lumière installation by the renowned artistic collaboration Luxmuralis.
This new event marks the first light and sound installation within the historic Abbey. Shine On, by Luxmuralis brings the stunning stained-glass windows of Bath Abbey to life in ways never seen before, using dynamic light projections and original musical compositions to highlight the intricate designs and vibrant colours that define these masterpieces, and which echo the colours and stories once painted across the Abbey Architecture.
As light dances across the ancient stone and illuminates the sacred art, visitors will be transported into a realm where history, art and technology converge. The immersive experience of Shine On extends beyond mere visual spectacle. The installation envelops the audience in a symphony of sound, specifically composed to enhance the luminous display.
This harmonious blend of light and music creates an atmosphere of reflection and wonder, inviting visitors to engage deeply with the Abbey’s rich heritage and spiritual ambiance. By animating the stained-glass windows with such innovation and artistry, Luxmuralis not only celebrates the craftsmanship of the past but also reimagines it for contemporary audiences, making Shine On a must-see event that honours and revitalises the historic beauty of Bath Abbey.
